Brent Scarcliff Creative Director
Brent draws upon a rare combination of creative, linguistic, and
marketing expertise in his role as our Creative Director and is
widely-regarded as one of the leading creatives in the field today.
He takes particular pride in the diversity of our client base and
enjoys working with clients large and small. His experience includes
projects for many of the most prominent players in their categories,
ranging from the major movie, television, and video game studios
to the best-known consumer sector giants, from the leading luxury
goods and services purveyors to respected non-profits, and just about
everything in between.
Prior to co-founding Scarcliff | Salvador, Brent was the Managing
Director of the Los Angeles office of a leading Bay Area brand development
firm. He's also been a key contributor to the largest European brand
naming agency, and he continues to provide creative services to
a select list of the world's leading brand consultancies. In addition
to North America and Europe, Brent has extensive experience in Asia,
Oceania, Latin America, and Africa.
A Los Angeles native, Brent gravitated to creative brand development
as a result of his experience as a Ph.D. candidate at UCLA, specializing
in Indo-European and Malayo-Polynesian historical linguistics and
comparative mythology. He earned his M.B.A. in Marketing (with a
concentration in branding and naming) at Loyola Marymount University
and his B.A. in Linguistics at the University of California at Davis.
With an an encyclopedic knowledge of language and popular culture,
and a unique understanding of the power of a great story, Brent
ensures every brand we help create hits home.
In his spare time, Brent enjoys travelling to new places with his
wife and three sons, coaching basketball, and cooking. Yes, he is
working on a novel, one carefully-chosen word at a time.
